Does this suit fit true to size?+
Yes — 9 of 10 recent buyers reported true-to-size. Order your usual jacket size. If you're between two, size up and let your tailor take it in — easier than letting it out.
Can I wear it as a funeral suit? To a wedding?+
Yes to both. The deep, matte black with a notch lapel is the traditional choice for services and is universally wedding-appropriate. Pair with a white shirt and a solid tie for formal, or an open collar and loafers for cocktail.
What about alterations?+
Pants arrive with an unfinished 37" inseam — your tailor hems them to your exact length. In-store at our Oak Park shop, alterations are free for the life of the suit. For online orders, we include a $40 alterations credit to use at any local tailor.
Is wool-touch real wool?+
No — it's a polyester/viscose weave engineered to drape and feel like wool at a fraction of the price. Advantage: it resists wrinkles and creases, doesn't need steaming between wears, and holds its shape in heat. If you want pure wool, look at our Blujacket line ($399–$599).
Will it arrive in time for my event?+
Enter your zip at the top of the page for a live delivery window. Standard orders ship within 1–2 business days from Michigan. Need it faster? Choose UPS 2-Day at checkout ($14.99) — orders placed by 2pm ET ship the same day.
What if it doesn't fit?+
30-day free returns, full stop. The pre-paid label is in the box. If you want to exchange for a different size, our team will ship the replacement before you return the first — just reach out at hello@thesuitdepot.com.
How do I care for it?+
Dry-clean 2–3 times a year — no more. Between wears, hang it on a wooden suit hanger and steam any wrinkles. Avoid ironing directly on the fabric; use a pressing cloth if you must.
